David
Trenow has been studying folklore for the past forty years, recording
many different traditional events on video and sound tape. He has
been a singer of traditional English folk songs (as part of a duo
called Dave and Dave) for all of these years, appearing on television,
radio and at folk clubs and festivals all over England.
He
has written a number of articles on the subject and at the moment
is working on a book on folklore in the UK. He has lectured for
the Worker's Educational Association on the subject as well as giving
lectures on residential weekends. He was a founder member of Hoddesdon
Folk Club and the Hoddesdon Crownsmen Rapper Sword Team and also
ran Colchester Folk Club for a number of years.
He
is still singing folk songs, both unaccompanied and to the guitar
and is available for bookings at folk clubs and festivals and other
celebrations.
